The University of Luxembourg is looking within its Faculty of Science, Technology and Communication
for outstanding candidates committed to excellence in research and teaching, open to interdisciplinary work, and helping to develop an emerging academic institution.

A Professor of Systems and Software Reliability in the Computer Science and Communication Research Unit (M/F)
Full-time (40h/week)


The successful candidate should contribute actively to the development of research
within the University’s strategic research priority in "Security and reliability of information technology" by contributing his/her expertise in dependable systems and networks, especially in the field of system and software reliability. The area encompasses, among others, methods and tools for system safety and reliability assessment, fault identification and management, fault tolerance, system and software vulnerability assessment and testing, model-driven software development, rigorous techniques for dependable system design, architectures and middleware for dependability, autonomic computing, protocols and algorithms for communication reliability. The application area covers a wide range and includes some areas that are of interest in Luxembourg, namely crisis and emergency management, and communication reliability in convergent networks.

The successful candidate will teach advanced courses in the Master in Information and Computer Sciences and in the Master of Security Management in Information Systems, and should participate to teaching basic courses in the Bachelors’ curricula.


* PhD in Computer Science or a related field and
* Post-doctoral experience of five years.
* A strong publication record is required.

* Extensive collaborations with other groups in the Computer Science and Communication Research Unit are expected.

Applications of younger scientists are encouraged. In this case, based on the scientific experience and achievements, the contract might be given as an Assistant-Professor.

The University of Luxembourg is set in a multilingual context. It is desired that the successful candidate will have a working knowledge in at least two of the following languages: English, French, and German. However, it is also possible to obtain proficiency in a second language after being hired as the University provides access to language classes. A basic knowledge of French has to be acquired during the first two years.
